Report Center
Premium, shareable PDF reporting with live-page chart parity and internal or external privacy modes.
What Report Center is
Report Center builds a US Letter PDF from the Insights data already in your workspace. It is not a screenshot and it does not maintain a separate reporting calculation: the KPI values, chart series, and table cells match the corresponding live Insights pages.
The export is designed as a standalone executive document: an editorial cover, chapter openers, KPI cards, vector charts, concise callouts, evidence tables, page numbers, privacy labels, and a closing website page. Charts remain sharp when printed or zoomed because they are drawn as PDF vectors rather than captured as screenshots.
The file uses the platform’s light brand styling, Space Grotesk titles, DM Sans body, and a consistent chart palette. Light and dark mode in the app do not change the PDF.
Report Center does not email reports, run on a schedule, remember custom presets, or store PDF files on the server. Each export is generated in your browser and downloaded locally.
Who can use it
Only workspace admins and platform admins can export. Editors and viewers do not see the nav item. If they open /report-center directly, they see an access-denied page and the app does not run report data or export requests.
The person who created the workspace is an admin. There is no separate “owner” role beyond workspace membership and admin/editor/viewer.
If you need a PDF for leadership, ask a workspace admin to export it and share the file with you.
Available now
Report Center is launched for every eligible workspace. There is no preview query parameter or browser-session switch. Workspace and platform admins see Report Center near the end of the left navigation with a New label. The sample workspace uses the same launched experience.
Where it lives
Open Report Center near the end of the app sidebar, immediately after Engineering Context Graph, or go to /report-center.
Choose the sharing mode
Every export starts in Internal detailed mode. Choose the audience before you export:
- Internal detailed includes people, teams, repositories, selected filters, and the exporting admin. Use it for authorized operational and leadership review.
- External share-safe keeps the workspace or company name and aggregate results, but replaces people, teams, repositories, and issue identities with deterministic labels such as
Person 1,Team 1,Repository 1, andIssue 1. It removes detailed organizational filters, job-role detail, repository filter IDs, and the exporting admin’s identity.
Aliases stay consistent within one PDF, so repeated references remain understandable without revealing the underlying identity. External mode changes the filename to start with report-external- and marks every page External share-safe report.
Share-safe mode reduces organizational identity exposure; it is not a legal classification or data-loss-prevention system. An admin should still review the finished file and follow company policy before distributing it.
How to build a report
The page follows three steps:
- Scope: Apply department, team, productivity team multi-select, and date filters in the toolbar. Ranges are 7, 30, 90, or 180 days, or a custom range up to 180 days.
- Output: Choose Internal detailed or External share-safe. Report Center currently exports PDF only.
- Content: Choose a preset, then open any content domain to refine its sections. Domains are Leadership, Insights, Productivity, AI usage, Engineering health, and Readiness. Each domain shows its selected count and provides one control to include or remove the whole group.
AI provider filters live inside the AI usage domain when relevant. Repository filters live inside Engineering health when relevant. A sticky summary keeps the audience, preset, selected-section count, and Export PDF action visible while you customize.
While sections load and the file is assembled, the UI shows the buddy and a preparing message. If any section fails to load, the export is cancelled and nothing is downloaded.
Timezone on the cover
Timestamps on the cover use the signed-in user’s preference timezone from account settings. If that preference is missing or invalid, the cover uses UTC and states the timezone by name.
After a successful export
Every successful download is recorded on Workspace → Activity as “Report exported.” Failed prepares (cancelled exports) do not create an activity row.
The structured cover presents the workspace, audience, date range, preset, section count, organizational scope, exporter, generated time, and grouped report contents in compact cards and tables. The external cover retains the workspace name and aggregate scope while replacing organizational and exporter details with privacy-safe wording. The AI Driven SDLC wordmark appears on the cover and running header.
The final page is intentionally suitable for a forwarded or printed document. It includes a clickable link and QR code to aidrivensdlc.com plus a direct link to docs.aidrivensdlc.com for metric definitions and report guidance. The cover also links to the documentation. Neither link includes tracking parameters.
Presets and default sections
Presets are starting checklists. You can add or remove sections before exporting.
| Preset | What it turns on by default |
|---|---|
| Leadership snapshot | Leadership headlines; Insights verdict summary; Productivity overview and by team; AI spend summary; SDLC executive summary and top actions (when Engineering Health is available); Readiness score and dimensions. Does not include by-user tables, full Insights modules, SDLC module tables, readiness repo/issue tables, or AI by team / by user / by model unless you check them. |
| Insights & Recommendations | Verdict summary plus all five modules: AI Spend vs Delivery Output, Velocity vs Quality, Review Bottleneck, Cost per Merged PR, Adoption Gap. |
| Productivity | Productivity overview, by team, and by user. |
| AI usage and spend | AI spend summary, by team, by user, and by model. |
| Engineering health | SDLC executive summary and top actions, plus module tables for DORA, CI Pipeline, Collaboration & PR, Security & Risk, Governance & Architecture, and Financial & Operational Infrastructure. Shown only when SDLC Insights is enabled for the workspace. |
| Agentic Readiness | Readiness score and dimensions, by repository, outstanding issues, blocking rules, and fix results. Blocking rules and fix results are not in the Leadership snapshot or the Full pack. |
| Full pack | Every section that your workspace build includes (same catalog order as the section list in the UI). Blocking rules and fix results stay on the Agentic Readiness preset. |
Section groups (catalog order)
When you customize or use Full pack, sections appear in this order:
- Leadership headlines
- Insights & Recommendations: verdict, then the five modules
- Productivity: overview, by team, by user
- AI usage and spend: spend summary, by team, by user, by model
- Engineering health (SDLC): executive summary, then six module metric tables
- Agentic Readiness: score and dimensions, by repository, outstanding issues, then blocking rules and fix results on that preset only
Named people
In Internal detailed mode, by-user sections print the same names as the matching live pages. In External share-safe mode, those names become stable aliases inside the PDF. By-user sections remain off in the Leadership snapshot until an admin enables them.
Filters by section type
| Area | Filters that apply |
|---|---|
| Leadership and Productivity | Department, team, productivity team multi-select, and date range |
| Insights modules | Productivity team multi-select, date range, and AI providers |
| AI usage | Department, team, date range, and AI providers |
| Engineering health (SDLC) | Same department, team, and range, plus repository selection when an SDLC section is checked. Empty repo selection matches “all repos in scope” on SDLC Insights overview. Flow metrics (DORA, CI, PR timing, etc.) are labeled with the selected range. Structural governance checks (branch protection, CODEOWNERS, README health, stale branches, and similar) are labeled Current state in the PDF. |
| Agentic Readiness | Workspace-wide. Department and team do not change readiness rows. The page states that filters do not apply. Overall score, dimensions, repository scores, and issue counts reflect latest scans. The score trend table follows the selected date range. Outstanding issues lists Queued, Generating, and PR Created work, not merged or failed items. Blocking rules lists the lowest-scoring blocked repositories (10 in the main report, the rest in an appendix). Fix results lists up to 10 merged fixes from the last 30 days. |
Empty data and large tables
A section with no rows still appears and states that there is no data in the range (or the module’s unavailable reason when Insights marks a module unavailable).
Tables cap at 500 rows per section; when truncated, the PDF notes that only the first 500 rows are shown.
Charts prioritize readable executive comparison over pixel-for-pixel page layout. Long category labels may be shortened to fit, dense series show a representative set of axis labels, and multi-series charts share one scale. The underlying values are unchanged.
What is not in the PDF
These product areas are out of scope for Report Center exports:
- Code Insights
- Test pyramid assessment
- Readiness fix actions, fix guides, and the readiness activity log
- SDLC metric drilldown pages (overview-level metrics only)
Report Center also does not provide scheduled delivery, email distribution, server-stored PDF history, custom brand uploads, editable chart layouts, password-protected files, or cryptographic signing. The PDF is generated in the browser and downloaded to the device; secure storage and distribution are the recipient’s responsibility.
Try it in the sample workspace
From the app sign-in screen, choose Try it with sample data, then open Report Center or go to /report-center. Export uses the same Northwind fixtures as the other Insights pages, so PDF values should match what you see on those screens with the same filters.
